When the king lived in his house, and Yahweh had given him rest from all his enemies all around,

ܐܡܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܠܢܬܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܚܙܝ ܕܐܢܐ ܝܬܒ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܕܐܪ̈ܙܐ ܘܐܪܘܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܝܬ̇ܒ ܒܓܘ ܝܪ̈ܝܥܬܐ
yryeth' bgw ythb d'lh' w'rwnh d'rz' bbyth' ythb d'n' khzy nby' lnthn mlk' 'mr
the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but God’s ark dwells within curtains.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܢܬܢ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܟܠ ܕܒܠܒܟ ܥܒܕ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܡܟ

Nathan said to the king, “Go, do all that is in your heart, for Yahweh is with you.”

ܒܗ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܗܘܐ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܢܬܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

That same night, Yahweh’s word came to Nathan, saying,

ܙܠ ܐܡܪ ܠܥܒܕܝ ܕܘܝܕ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܒܢܐ ܠܝ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܡܘܬܒܝ
lmwthby byth' ly thbn' l' 'nth mry' 'mr hkn' dwyd lebdy 'mr zl
“Go and tell my servant David, ‘Yahweh says, “Should you build me a house for me to dwell in?

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܝܬܒܬ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܣܩܬ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ ܘܗܘܝܬ ܡܗܠܟ ܒܡܫ̈ܟܢܐ
bmshkn' mhlk whwyth lywmn' wedm' dmtsryn 're' mn 'ysryl lbny d'sqth ywm' mn bbyth' ythbth dl' mTl
For I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought the children of Israel up out of Egypt, even to this day, but have moved around in a tent and in a tabernacle.

ܒܟܘܠ ܕܗܠܟܬ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܠܡܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܚܕ ܡܢ ܫܒ̈ܛܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܦܩܕܬ ܠܡܪܥܐ ܠܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܕܠܡܢܐ ܠܐ ܒܢܝܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܒܝܬܐ ܕܐܪ̈ܙܐ

In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, did I say a word to anyone from the tribes of Israel whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’

ܗܫܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܬܐܡܪ ܠܥܒܕܝ ܕܘܝܕ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܒܪܬܟ ܡܢ ܕܝܪܐ ܡܢ ܒܣܬܪ ܥܢܐ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܡܕܒܪܢܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl emy el mdbrn' dthhw' en' bsthr mn dyr' mn dbrthk 'n' khylthn' mry' 'mr hkn' dwyd lebdy th'mr hkn' hsh'
Now therefore tell my servant David this: ‘Yahweh of Armies says, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel.

ܘܗܘܝܬ ܥܡܟ ܠܟܪ ܕܐܙܠܬ ܘܐܘܒܕܬ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝܟ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܘܐܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܫܡܐ ܪܒܐ ܐܝܟ ܫܡܐ ܕܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܐܪܥܐ
b're' d'yth drwrbn' shm' 'yk rb' shm' lk w'ebd qdmyk mn beldbbyk lklhwn w'wbdth d'zlth lkr emk whwyth
I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.

ܘܐܥܒܕ ܐܬܪܐ ܠܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܘܐܨܒܝܘܗܝ ܘܐܫܪܝܘܗܝ ܒܐܬܪܗ ܒܫܠܝܐ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܙܘܥ ܘܠܐ ܢܘܣܦܘܢ ܬܘܒ ܒܢܝ̈ ܥܘܠܐ ܠܡܫܥܒܕܘܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܩܕܡܝܬܐ
dbqdmyth' 'yk lmshebdwthh ewl' bny thwb nwspwn wl' nzwe l' wthwb bshly' b'thrh w'shrywhy w'tsbywhy 'ysr'yl lemy 'thr' w'ebd
I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place and be moved no more. The children of wickedness will not afflict them any more, as at the first,

ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܦܩܕܬܟ ܕܝܢܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܠܟ ܐܢܝܚܬ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝܟ ܘܚܘܝܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܒܝܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' lk ebd dbyth' mry' wkhwyk beldbbyk klhwn mn 'nykhth wlk 'ysryl emy el dyn' d'pqdthk ywm' mn
and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover Yahweh tells you that Yahweh will make you a house.

ܘܡܐ ܕܫܠܡܘ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܟ ܘܫܟܒܬ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܟ ܐܩܝܡ ܙܪܥܟ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܟ ܕܢܦܩ ܡܢ ܚܨܟ ܘܐܬܩܢ ܡܠܟܘܬܗ
mlkwthh w'thqn khtsk mn dnpq bthrk mn zrek 'qym 'bhyk em wshkbth ywmthk dshlmw wm'
When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who will proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom.

ܘܗ̣ܘ ܢܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܝ ܘܐܬܩܢ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm edm' dmlkwthh kwrsy' w'thqn lshmy byth' nbn' whw
He will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

ܐܢܐ ܐܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܐܒܐ ܘܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܠܒܪܐ ܘܒܣܟܠܘܬܗ ܐܟܣܝܘܗܝ ܒܫܒܛܐ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܘܒܢܓܕܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' dbny wbngd' dgbr' bshbT' 'ksywhy wbsklwthh lbr' ly nhw' whw l'b' lh 'hw' 'n'
I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the children of men;

ܘܚܣܕܝ ܠܐ ܐܥܒܪ ܡܢܗ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܥܒܪܬ ܡܢ ܫܐܘܠ ܕܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܘܐܥܒܪܬܗ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝ
qdmy mn w'ebrthh qdmyk mn dhw' sh'wl mn d'ebrth 'ykn' mnh 'ebr l' wkhsdy
but my loving kindness will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܝܬܟ ܘܡܠܟܘܬܟ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܩܕܡܝ ܘܟܘܪܣܝܟ ܢܬܩܢ ܩܕܡܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm edm' qdmy nthqn wkwrsyk qdmy lelm edm' wmlkwthk bythk mhymn wnhw'
Your house and your kingdom will be made sure forever before you. Your throne will be established forever.”’”

ܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܢܬܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ

Nathan spoke to David all these words, and according to all this vision.

ܘܐܬܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܘܝܬܒ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܡ̇ܢ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܡܢܐ ܗܘ ܒܝܬܝ ܕܡܛܝܬܢܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܪܟܐ

Then David the king went in and sat before Yahweh; and he said, “Who am I, Lord Yahweh, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?

ܒܨܝܪܐ ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܥܠ ܒܝܬ ܥܒܕܟ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܗܢܘ ܝܘܠܦܢܗ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' mry' d'nsh' ywlpnh hnw rwkhq' mn ebdk byth el d'mrth 'lh' mry' beynyk hd' hy btsyr'
This was yet a small thing in your eyes, Lord Yahweh, but you have spoken also of your servant’s house for a great while to come; and this among men, Lord Yahweh!

ܘܡܢܐ ܬܘܒ ܢܘܣܦ ܥܒܕܟ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܢܐܡܪ ܠܟ ܐܢܬ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܠܗ ܠܥܒܕܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' mry' lebdk lh 'nth yde 'nth lk dn'mr dwyd ebdk nwsp thwb wmn'
What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, Lord Yahweh.

ܡܛܠ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܝܟ ܘܐܝܟ ܠܒܟ ܥܒܕܬ ܗܕܐ ܟܠܗ̇ ܪܒܘܬܐ ܠܡܘܕܥܘ ܠܥܒܕܟ
lebdk lmwdew rbwth' klh hd' ebdth lbk w'yk pthgmyk mTl
For your word’s sake, and according to your own heart, you have worked all this greatness, to make your servant know it.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܪܒ ܐܢܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܬ ܐܟܘܬܟ ܘܠܝܬ ܐܠܗ ܠܒܪ ܡܢܟ ܕܫܡܥܢ ܒܐ̈ܕܢܝܢ
b'dnyn dshmen mnk lbr 'lh wlyth 'kwthk dlyth mTl 'lh' mry' 'nth rb hn' mTl
Therefore you are great, Yahweh God. For there is no one like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

ܘܡܢܘ ܐܝܟ ܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܡܐ ܚܕ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܙܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܡܦܪܩ ܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܘܠܡܥܒܕ ܠܗ ܫܡܐ ܘܠܡܥܒܕ ܠܗ ܪܒܘܬܐ ܘܚ̈ܙܘܢܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܥܠ ܥܡܟ ܕܦܪܩܬ ܠܟ ܡܢ ܡܨܪܝܢ ܥܡܐ ܕܐܢܬ ܐܠܗܗ

What one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself for a people, and to make himself a name, and to do great things for you, and awesome things for your land, before your people, whom you redeemed to yourself out of Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

ܘܬܩܢܬ ܠܟ ܠܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܠܟ ܥܡܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܐܢܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' lhwn hwyth mry' w'nth lelm edm' em' lk dnhw' 'ysryl lemk lk wthqnth
You established for yourself your people Israel to be your people forever; and you, Yahweh, became their God.

ܘܗܫܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܥܠ ܥܒܕܟ ܘܥܠ ܒܝܬܗ ܐܫܪ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܥܒܕ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡܪܬ

“Now, Yahweh God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, confirm it forever, and do as you have spoken.

ܘܢܐܪܒ ܫܡܟ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܒܝܬܗ ܕܥܒܕܟ ܕܘܝܕ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܬܩܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm edm' qdmyk mthqn nhw' dwyd debdk wbythh d'ysryl 'lh' khylthn' mry' d'mrth 'yk lelm edm' shmk wn'rb
Let your name be magnified forever, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies is God over Israel; and the house of your servant David will be established before you.’

ܡܛܘܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܓܠܝܬ ܠܐܕܢܗ ܕܥܒܕܟ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܕܐܒܢܐ ܠܟ ܒܝܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܬܪܥܝ ܥܒܕܟ ܒܠܒܗ ܠܡܨܠܝܘ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܨܠܘܬܐ ܗܕܐ
hd' tslwth' qdmyk lmtslyw blbh ebdk 'threy hn' mTl byth' lk d'bn' w'mrth debdk l'dnh glyth d'ysryl 'lh' khylthn' mry' d'nth mTwl
For you, Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house.’ Therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.

ܘܗܫܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܡ̈ܠܝܟ ܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܫܪ̈ܝܪܢ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܥܠ ܥܒܕܟ ܛܒܬܐ ܗܕܐ
hd' Tbth' ebdk el d'mrth shryrn nhwyn wmlyk 'lh' hw 'nth 'lh' mry' whsh'
“Now, O Lord Yahweh, you are God, and your words are truth, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.

ܡܟܝܠ ܫܪܐ ܘܒܪܟ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܥܒܕܟ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܠܥܠܡ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܠܠܬ ܘܡܢ ܒܘܪܟܬܟ ܢܬܒܪܟ ܒܝܬ ܥܒܕܟ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm edm' ebdk byth nthbrk bwrkthk wmn mllth 'lh' mry' d'nth mTl lelm qdmyk dnhw' debdk bythh wbrk shr' mkyl
Now therefore, let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, Lord Yahweh, have spoken it. Let the house of your servant be blessed forever with your blessing.”
